CoverGirl Classic Color Blush in "Soft Mink"

Soft Mink was the first blush I ever used and I have to give credit for it to my mama. She's a gorgeous girl and a hardcore Lancome lover. When she let me start buying makeup, this was one that she thought would be appropriate. I've honestly had a Soft Mink my makeup collection ever since.

Soft Mink is a medium, warm apricot-peachy shade with subtle golden shimmer. It's so flattering and neutral in tone enough to wear with any makeup look. I find that the shimmer is so beautiful and subtle that it seriously makes your skin glow. It never fails that someone will make a comment when I wear this blush.

excuse the sockbun and hoodie...GO DUCKS!

My mom has used Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace for as long as I can remember and Soft Mink is a spot on dupe for it in my opinion. I've owned both and they are identical in formulation, application and overall finish on my skin. Soft Mink is about $25 cheaper as well. So...there's that.

This blush sits beautifully on the skin and is exceptional quality, especially for a drugstore blush. It comes in the classic CoverGirl black case. I toss the brush and use one of my own blush brushes. One or two swipes is all you need. It's pigmented but buildable.

I swear by Soft Mink and think this blush could work for a variety of skin tones. I can't recommend it enough.

  1. Awesome!! I just bought it yesterday online and cant wait to try it. I love that its so 'muted' looking. toned down. I am trying to get away from all that way too cool toned.. pinks and purples(wines and plums) ive been wearing and into more peach pink, neutrals mauves and golds... (I read it was like a peachy gold pink taupy color) I wore all hardcore pinks/plums because I cant stand the 'dirty' look of too warm type peaches and browns, which turn orange on me and just dirty. but I am very pale.. and I got tired of all that unnatural looking color on my face(bubble gum pink) just for avoiding that 'dirty warm' thing. i'm hoping this is the answer! I even matched it online with "rose gold" NYC lipstick:) a $4 blush and a $1.99 lipstick! yayay. I am excited to try new things because I just found a new foundation im crazy about. Revlon colorstay whipped creme makeup.. in Ivory 110. Your review is perfect, thank you! I almost feel like this color could be called salmon pink? I like colors that are hard to define! 'depends how you look at it' like an exact mix of 'warm and cool' not so far either way. that's what drew me to this. :)

  3. I do! so much I went and got the Rose Silk as well:) since I love the formula,shimmer... and big brush it comes with! and I wanted something more pink. ill wear this one all the time too. but I definately wanted more pink. Knowing me ill wear them together. I love the smell of these blushes! That good ol fashioned "noxzema clean" Remember the packages used to say "noxzema clean ingedients" well, its still in there! Maybe yourenot old enough, I am 38..covergirl blushes used to say that on the packages! as well as I believe one of the foundations.
Anywayz a keeper! I am sure when I run out ill buy another. Now I am wondering about the one called Natural as well. I seem to recall wearing it as a teen. then I will have all 4 Classic shades for I do already have the dark purply one. But it just sits there for a year in my bathroom cabinet, I dont like it so much. but Natural is good, can probably pile it on and not look like have blush on. with the Soft Mink, I put it on and it was perfect, then I went and put more on and ruined it. it was too much. too dark...so I learned.
