Review: Drugstore Dupe for MAC Mineralize Skinfinish-Natural??!!

Well, wouldn't that just be the holy grail of all things beauty?? It's not quite a 100% match, but it's pretty darn close and for the price difference, it's a winner in my book.

Now I love the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural. My color is Medium Plus. However, I do not love the cost. It's almost $30 for this baby. It did last me 4 months, but still. THAT IS PRICEY. And I am lazy. I hate going to the mall for makeup unless I absolutely have to for things I can not get comparatively at my favorite local stores.

Which brings me to my little discovery. I have been on the hunt for a pressed mineral foundation to rival MSFN. I tried a few with chalkier than desired effects, tried a few with minimal to invisible effects and then...I found it. Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Powder Foundation.

I've been into the Neutrogena Healthy Skin line for a while and really love the Healthy Skin foundation so I thought I'd give this a whirl. I was honestly super impressed. It was around $12 at Target, it's got nice packaging with a mirror and it's very silky. I can either buff it on with a kabuki brush when I want minimal makeup or use the little puff that comes with it and apply it over my foundation on days when I need a little more coverage or shine control. It lasts all day, never cakes up, doesn't oxidize or get orangey and gives honestly good coverage. Ding Ding Ding, we have a WINNER!

    1. For me, I usually wear Medium Plus in MSFN and the Shade "Nude" in the Maybelline is a perfect match on my skin. Hope that helps!

  2. this stuff is the only thing I wear where my husband always comments "you look beautiful!" and I have a trillion foundations . looks natural and glowing, gives a lot of color. Thats why he likes it but I am super pale. so the lightest one, Classic Ivory is too dark for me. I wish they made it a shade lighter. it protects so well against the sun. so when I go to the beach, this is what I wear. since I am getting color then anyway. I come home and wash my face, no sunburn. excellent sunscreen. For a shade lighter with a similar effect I recommend Stila illuminating powder foundation in 10 watts.

  5. Thanks for the review, but I'm still in a corner....I got excited, but the ingredients in the Neutrogena one aren't too good at all...does anyone know of a product with no parabens that would be a dupe? I think that parabens destroy skin quality, I stopped using anything that had them, and my skin & hair quality have significantly improved...But, msfn is more expensive than what I can get right now,rrrr....Lol

But, one thing that I found that's kind l kind of a middle-man between msfn & studio fix is m.a.c's marine formula from the lightful line. But, it's only available in Asia. I found one in my shade on eBay, it was just the refill, it was $30, and contains an spf of 25++, but it still has similar qualities to msfn. But, still not the same ;o) guess I'll just be patient and wait until next month....Thanks again!
