L'Oreal Visible Lift Cream Blush in "Rose Gold"

I've been venturing into L'Oreal more over the past year and haven't been disappointed yet. If I'm honest the "Rose Gold" name pretty much had me at hello. I had to have it.

Rose Gold is a light pinky peach with golden shimmer. Very fine shimmer, there is no sparkle here. More of a pearlescent golden sheen.

L'Oreal describes this as:

Visible Lift® Colour Blush contours and illuminates cheekbones for a radiant, youthful looking complexion. The hybrid cream to powder formula has a silky, lightweight texture that does not settle into fine lines, giving complexions a flawless even tone. Visible Lift Colour Blush is infused with tourmaline pearls for optimized radiance to revitalize the complexion and create a healthy glow.

It is so pretty. Glowy, golden, summery and perfect. I like to apply my foundation, apply my blush and then use a duo fibre brush to lightly apply this to the tops of my cheekbones. It's a gorgeous effect. It can also be used alone as a blush, but on my medium skin it's light blush.

The texture is everything I wanted the Maybelline Bouncy Blushes to be, but they weren't. Where they can feel tacky, this just turns perfectly powdery. This is a true cream to powder product here. I don't feel like I have to work as hard with this to see the color, it's more pigmented and true to what you see in the pan.

Rose Gold almost feels cool to the touch and it doesn't smear out of the pan like the other cream blushes can. The packaging around it is perfect for cream blush. The texture, packaging, color payoff and shade make this one of the best cream blushes I've tried.

Overall, I am very impressed with this blush. I would definitely purchase more of these products from L'Oreal!

Colors of the Rainbow Tag!!

Sometimes I get jealous that YouTubers get to do all the fun tags...

I saw EleventhGorgeous do this tag and it looked like so much fun. I wasn't tagged, but I'm totally hopping on the tag train.

Red: Maybelline The Vivids Vivid Rose. I'm sneaking this one in because the color is completely pink, but the PACKAGING is red...so it counts, right?? It is my favorite lip product right now. Feels good on the lips and manages to stay a decent amount of time on the lips. Crazy intensely pigmented without getting milky or chalky. SOO PRETTY!

Orange: Clinique Happy perfume. That sweet little orange writing gets me every time...and the scent actually does make me happy! I don't typically love the color orange, but Happy is the happiest orange thing I own.

Yellow: Dickinsons Witchhazel Foaming Face Wash. This does not smell good...it smells like dandelions or weeds to me. But... and this is a major BUT...it works amazingly well. It's gentle but effective and has left my skin feeling and looking nicer than it has in months. It doesn't dry my skin at all but has somehow almost reduced my breakouts to non-existent. I've only been able to find it at Walgreens, but it is definitely worth picking up.

Green: Origins Make A Difference + Rejuvenating Treatment. Kind of more of a teal...but hear me out! This greenish little jar is full of some amazing stuff. I use this at night and in the morning and see such great results with it. It feels luxurious and makes my skin feel supple and happy.

Blue: JulieG "Cabana Boy" nail polish. Oh man, do we have a little crush on this or what? It's been on my nails the last 3 times I've done them. Love love love this $3.99 little bottle of cobalt heaven.

Indigo: WTF is indigo and who owns an indigo beauty product?? I'm going to go with Navy...ok? Neutrogena Nourishing Eyeliner in Twilight Blue. It makes your eyes look whiter and definines your lashes without being super harsh like a black can be.

Violet: Maybelline "The Falsies" Mascara. Not the flared version, the original version. This mascara replaced CoverGirl's Lash Blast when I got sick of purchasing new tubes that were already dried out. I have repurchased this mascara consistenly every 3 months for about a year and it is definitly great. Perfectly, lenthened, seperated and black black eyelashes that last all day without flaking or smudging. Why haven't you tried this yet??

Pink: Beyond The Zone Smooth Criminal Humidity Blocking Hairspray. I have used Tresemme Tres 2 hairspray for about 8 years. I love it. But...Sally's was having thier BTZ products 2 for $12 and I was out of hairspray and thought I'd give this a shot. WOW. It's the finest hairspray. It almost feels like a gentle mist coming out of the bottle but then you see the results and it's suprisingly good. Oregon does get humid and my hair tends to poof when it's humid. This stuff holds my style while still leaving it touchable and moveable. Really impressed with this hairspray.

Rainbow: I don't really own anything "rainbow" but I do own something with tons of colors that I love. The NYX Every Color Imaginable 78 color palette. This has literally one version of every color I can think of and they are pretty great quality as well.

Julie G "Cabana Boy" Nail Polish

I'm not usually a blue nail kind of girl, but I saw this color and just had to have it.

JulieG Cabana Boy

It was only $3.99 at RiteAid, I felt justified trying a new brand at that price.

I know JulieG is a YouTube guru and I've seen some of her videos on her nail polishes but had never heard anything about Cabana Boy. I'd describe it as a mid toned blue cream with maybe a slight purpley undertone. Enough that it keeps it flattering on your hands.

This applied like a dream. Literally opaque in one coat. I did 2 to be safe, topped with SV and it lasted 5 days without chipping and very minimal wear. One of the best drugstore nail polishes I've ever tried.

It is such a stand out blue, it definitely gets noticed on the nails. It's almost electric cobalt blue without being neon or obnoxious. Such a vibrant and unique nail color. It would also make a great toe color.

The awesomeness of this polish makes me want to try other JulieG colors. I would defintely repurchase and see this as a long time summer color!

One coat, seriously opaque

China Glaze Sun Worshiper

One of my favorite Beauty Bloggers, Amarixe, did an awesome ombre nail tutorial on her YouTube page last week. It peaked my interest, because I had 2 out of the 3 colors (Sun Worshiper and Flip Flop Fantasy) she used and another that I liked a little better than the hot pink she used (I used China Glaze Pool Party). I was really excited because she used a color that I've had for a while and have never really known what to do with it.

China Glaze Sun Worshiper. It's a gorgeous yellowy, neon orange that is stunning in the bottle but a little sheer on the nail. I'm not a huge orange fan so I've loved it but never used it. She used it over a layer of white and then faded to a coral color into a neon pink. SO GORGEOUS.

I tried it first like Amarixe did with really great results. It's an awesome tutorial for any color of ombre nail. I liked it so well that I actually did it for 2 manicures in a row and then decided to use Sun Worshiper on it's own.

I don't like it as well as I did on the ombre nails, mainly because it's very sheer on it's own. It does need a lighter base underneath to really make it pop. I had to do 5 thin coats to get it to show like this which means it will probably peel within a day or two. But it is a gorgous color and great against a tan. I will keep trying this color in different ways to get it to work the best, so far I like it in small increments such as an accent nail or in an ombre look.

CoverGirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm

I am such a sucker for lip crayons. It's awful. I see the chubby sticks and brightly colored packaging and it just sucks me in.

I have been pretty loyal to the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains, but the 2 colors I have of those are pretty basic. Honey and Precious. Very good daily basics but nothing bright or exciting.

I saw this color at Target and thought I'd give CoverGirl a whirl. Watermelon Twist spoke to me...

I don't know why they describe these as a "gloss". It's not. The color is beautiful and it feels very nice on the lips but definitely does not have a glossy finish. I'd go much more with the "balm" portion of the description. It feels velvety and moisturizing on the lips.

The staying power is average. Less than the Revlon but still fine. When a product is this easy to apply and feels like lip balm, I don't mind reapplying and don't really expect products like this to last all day.

Overall, I do like this product and think it's great that they have different colors than the other brands. I think this is a perfect spring/summer lip product. Low maintenance with great color payoff. Have you tried any of these? What colors are you guys loving?

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

I had a gift card for Sephora burning a hole in my pocket. I wanted to get something I wouldn't normally buy for myself. So, instead of blowing it on bottles of nail polish, I was smart and actually purchased something awesome.

I know everyone in the blogosphere has already reviewed this, but I thought I'd throw my little 2 cents in there too.

For me, this is a great companion to the other 2 Naked Palettes, but also super great to throw in your makeup bag and have one palette for several different looks. Naked 2 even works great for my brows, so this really can be an all inclusive eye palette for me.

This is my first real adventure with mattes, aside from Naked and Buck in the original Naked Palette. I'm a satin finish kind of girl. But the mattes in this palette have reformed me. It makes such a soft, wearable look. So nice for day/work and I especially like it with my reading glasses. Sometimes the glare off glasses with a shimmery eye look is too much. Matte's just look polished and done.

I like them all except for Foxy. It is the only one that feels "chalky" to me and it just doesn't show up on my eyes at all. Even with a primer. I haven't found a good use for Foxy yet, so if you know of one, let me know.

Day to day, I wear W.O.S. on my eyelid, Venus (the only one with shimmer) on my inner corner and browbone and Naked 2 in my crease and lower lash line. Naked 2 packs more punch than you think it would, a little goes a long way. I like using Faint on the outer V, but seriously, just a small amount.

April Favorites

Revlon ColorStay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin. I caved and gave ColorStay a second chance...I do not have dry skin, I have oily skin in the T zone for sure. TiffanyD was talking about this and saying how she doesn't have dry skin either but likes this formula so much more than the other version. I had a coupon for $3 off any Revlon ColorStay product and thought I'd give it a try. LOVE. Everything I liked about the original ColorStay, but this doesn't break me out and isn't nearly as heavy. It also has more of a natural/satin finish which the dew lover in me just adores. Great purchase!

Maybelline The Vivids Vivid Rose. I have a full review of this product on the blog. I can't get enough of this color. I've been loving putting a pink gloss on and then applying a swipe of this over it to brighten it up but still have a sheer glossy finish. It's an easy way to get color without the work.

Tresemme Platinum Strength Deep Conditioning Treatment. After going this blonde, my hair is parched to say the least. This product claims it can reverse up to 2 years worth of damage when used with the shampoo. We all know you can't reverse damage but you can conceal it and make it look better while preventing further damage. I have noticed some serious results with this and really liking it.

Platinum Strength Renewing Deep Conditioning Treatment

One n Only Shiny Silver Shampoo. Again, a must for a blonde girl! Super drying though, so definitely use sparingly and with a good conditioner. Works so well to get the brassiness out though.

Orly Passionfruit Nail Polish. Always my spring/summertime favorite nail color. So bright, so punchy and lasts a long time. I like this best for my toes. It just makes you look super tan.

Passion Fruit

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Why does this smell so good?? For $4 I sure do love this stuff. I apply to my Tzone with a fluffy brush and it seriously lasts all day. LOVING this.
